Disadvantages of Fast Food

Junk food might not be the healthiest choice one could be making, but it is sure tasty, affordable and easily reachable. A type of food that can be prepared and served quickly. There are a lot more disadvantages and argument that go against eating it. There is a few disadvantages of eating fast food such as weight gain, stroke risk and tooth decay.

Firstly is weight gain. Junk foods are high-energy-dense food  because they contain a lots of calories, mostly from fat and sugar but offer few nutritional benefits. When you fill yourself up with empty calories, you may be left craving more and this can lead to weight gain and obesity.

Secondly is stroke risk. For optimal heart health, you should not consume more than 1500 milligrams of sodium each day. You need some sodium in your diet to help maintain normal fluid balance, but too much sodium can increase blood pressure and stroke risk. Eating junk food high in sodium such as potato chips, french fries and pepperoni pizza, may increase your risk of stroke.

Thirdly is tooth decay. A diet rich in in sugary sweets increase your chances of developing cavities. Tooth decay occurs when enamel, the protective coating on your teeth, starts to break down. Eating high food with a high sugar content such as soda, candy and baked goods, coats your mouth, gums, tongue and teeth with sugar. Lessen your risk of tooth decay by brushing your teeth after each meal and snacks.

All in all, human being should think twice if they want to eat fast foods in order to keep away from the negative impacts. Therefore, they can take another choice of fast foods such salad which has low calories and good nutrients. Thus, the human body will remain healthy.
